This Privacy Policy explains how Cabin Agency Inc. ("Cabin", "we", "us") collects, uses, and shares personal information when you use Cabin. We aim to handle information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial law.
1. Information we collect
- Account information - your email address and, if you provide them, your name and the people on your team.
- Business brief - what you tell us about your business to build your site (description, services, hours, contact details, style preferences, reference sites).
- Uploaded assets - files you upload, such as a logo or photos.
- Usage and device data - basic logs, cookies/session identifiers, and similar technical data needed to operate the service.
- Billing data - handled by our payment processor; we receive limited information such as plan and payment status, not full card numbers.
2. How we use information
We use information to provide and improve the service: to create and host your website, generate drafts and assets, communicate with you, process payments, provide support, keep the service secure, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information.
3. Cookies and sessions
We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to operate the service. We do not use them for third-party advertising.
4. Service providers
We share information with vendors who process it on our behalf, under contract and only as needed to run Cabin. These currently include:
- payment processing (Stripe);
- hosting and content delivery (including Cloudflare for site hosting and asset storage);
- email delivery; and
- AI model providers used to generate website drafts.
Content you submit to generate a site may be processed by these AI providers solely to produce your draft.
5. Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, then for a reasonable period to meet legal, accounting, or dispute-resolution needs. Deleted files are purged after a short grace period.
6. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, withdraw consent, or ask us to delete it. To make a request, contact us using the details below. You may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. International transfers
Some of our service providers may process information outside Canada (for example, in the United States). Where that happens, the information may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions.
9. Children
Cabin is intended for businesses and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you.
